I am sure you have heard about the Web 2.0 in recent years from some media. Web 2.0 has become a buzz word in the world of internet.
What is Web 2.0? Web 2.0 is a term describing the trend in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users. These concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies.
Here are the URLs for some famous Web 2.0 sites:
YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/
Orkut: http://www.orkut.com/
Blogger: https://www.blogger.com/
Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/
LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/
MalayalamLive: http://www.bestofhindi.com/
Are you using any Web 2.0 features? I am sure you are, if you have registered with one of the social networking sites like Orkut or Linked In or if you have written any blog (aka Web log) or if you have uplaoded a video to YouTube...
Orkut is a social networking site used popular in India and Brazil. Even though it is from the IT giant Google, it is not commonly in USA. However, most of the Malayalees now have Orkut account, due to high its usage in India. We will be able to find our old classmates, buddies etc. there and keep in touch with them with the new way of talking in Orkut world called "scraps".
Most of us watch our favorite songs in YouTube. This "Om Santhi Om" Song Video has over 3900,000 hits.
This shows Indians are into Web 2.0 in a big way.
We have launched bestofhindi.com website to help enabling Web 2.0 for indians. Bestofhindi.com is a free website for indians across the world. It has live news from various sources organized in a Web2.0 fashion. Please visit us at http://www.bestofindia.com/
